I'm Helen and I've been a professionally qualified therapist for over twenty years. I was very interested in Aromatherapy and essential oils but it wasn't until I became redundant from my office job that I considered training and turning my interest into a career. I gained a Diploma in Body Massage, Aromatherapy and Anatomy & Physiology. After a few years I became self-employed and added other massage skills to my work. I have a particular interest in aromatherapy and a love of essential oils which I use in my treatments. During the last lock down I studied candle-making and organic skincare and and decided to make my own products using natural ingredients, fragranced with essential oils and using recycled or recyclable packaging. Take a look at my shop for a range of gifts and self-care products. I am also interested in the way our modern lifestyles affect our posture and stress levels both of which can be greatly helped by massage. Often our own health and well being take a back seat, and we ignore our bodies’ signs that it may need some extra help once in a while. Offering home visits has become a valuable way of delivering quality treatment and enabling access to massage therapy in a more convenient and flexible way. Home visits can increase the benefits of your massage by cutting out the need to drive or travel after your appointment. And because you are in your own home environment, you can do what you feel like - take a warm bath, have a nap or just put your feet up, enabling you to extend all the wonderful massage benefits for as long as possible. When I'm not working, I'm mum to my son (and to our family whippet) and I have revived my interest in ballet, taking up adult classes again after a long absence. I have recently undertaken some training with dance physiotherapist, Lisa Howell, to look at injury prevention and safe practice in dance and to enhance technique. I am also a certified PBT instructor and a B Contours Barre Instructor which I teach at the Ballet Contours studio. I look forward to hearing from you soon and being able to soothe your mind and body with a wonderful massage treatment. HC, Testimonials I've been having regular back massage from Helen for the last 2 or 3 years.. Recently I've had a severe flare up of arthritis in my spine and so I've had several full body massages. I find Helen's approach very calming and reassuring. She is very skillful at finding the root of the pain and does all that she can to alleviate it and her treatment has been beneficial to me. O M, Rossendale Helen has been coming to me for 6 years. I find her punctual, efficient, professional and reliable. Helen is also friendly and patient. I enjoy her visits enormously and always look forward to seeing her. K M, Bury l have been having regular massages for a few years now and must say how relaxed I feel afterwards. I have recommended friends who are all benefiting from their massages. B W, Rossendale I've enjoyed several of Helen's therapies after my barre class. Indian Head Massage or Acupressure are the perfect way to relax. The barre and 'Calm Touch' together set you up for the rest of the day. E G, Prestwich I highly recommend inviting Helen of Calm Touch Therapies to your home to give you any of her lovely treatments.
